The 17th South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs) set the stage ablaze this weekend, embracing the live experience after a three-year hiatus from in-person ceremonies due to the pandemic.
The theme "Our stories flow together" echoed through the gathering, uniting the vibrant South African entertainment industry.

How to Ruin Christmas triumphed in the comedy realm with five wins, illustrating the series' enduring appeal.
In the dramatic arena, Netflix's Justice Served showcased its prowess, clinching three significant awards, including best actor and actress.
From Thulani Mtsweni's compelling portrayal in "Gomora" to Lawrence Maleka's stellar performance in "The River," the telenovela category witnessed exceptional artistry.
Nthati Moshesh and Lerato Mvelase showcased their acting prowess in gripping TV dramas, leaving an indelible mark on the audience.

The event also recognised the achievements of the youth, honouring Xolisa Mpafa, and applauded lifestyle programming with "Homegrown Taste South Africa Season 1," celebrating the rich tapestry of South African culture.
