Egyptian giants Al Ahly have progressed to the semi-finals of the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, Al Ahly advanced to the last four after defeating Seattle Sounders 1-0 on Saturday night.

In a very difficult encounter for Al Ahly at the Grand Stade de Tanger Stadium in Morocco, Al Ahly left it late as Mohamed Magdy scored in the 88th after his shot which had initially hit the woodwork took a wicked deflection on its way to finding the back of the net.

Al Ahly who are competing in the Club World Cup for the 8th time this year, will be up against European Champions Real Madrid in Rabat on Wednesday for a place in the final of the tournament.

This is the second time the sides will be meeting and it promises to be a feisty encounter as Al Ahly will want to give Madrid a run for their money while the side from Spain will not back down.

In another semi-final encounter we will see Al Hilal face off against Brazil's Flamengo on Tuesday night at the Grand Stade de Tanger Stadium.

Al Hilal progressed to the semi finals after defeating Wydad Casablanca 5-3 on penalties after the two teams played out to a 1-1 draw after extra time.
