Matchday 16 of the DSTV Premiership has some mouth-watering clashes, so if you are a soccer fan get ready for an exciting weekend!

It begins with Kaizer Chiefs hosting AmaZulu at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday night, kick-off is at 19:30. The Glamour boys head into this encounter at the back of a narrow 1-0 loss to Sekhukhune United last weekend at the FNB Stadium.

A loss that coach Arthur Zwane described as a disappointing one, "I am just disappointed that we lost a game that we shouldn't have lost" Zwane lamented.

With 7 wins from 15 matches Kaizer Chiefs will look to the services of top goalscorer Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana to add to his tally of 7 goals so far, the Burundian international has really boosted the attacking force of the squad with his presence in the 18 yard causing chaos for opposition teams.

Amakhosi will also be hoping that their shaky defence which has seen the club concede 16 goals in the campaign so far will be on fine form on Friday night to stop the threat that Amazulu will bring.

In contrast, Usuthu also need the 3 points to ease the pressure on coach Romain Folz after losing the KZN Derby to Royal AM 2-0. Usuthu under Folz have only won 1 match out of 7 since he took over from Brandon Truter in October 2022.

Saturday will see Orlando Pirates back at the Orlando Stadium against Lamontville Golden Arrows, Pirates have lost the past 3 games of their DSTV Premiership campaign conceding 5 goals in the process and only scoring 1.

However Bucs defender Thapelo Xoki believes that the poor performances can be overturned starting from Saturday, "We know that it hasn't been our best time because we are currently not doing well but we can't cry over spilled milk, the important thing now is to soldier on and show character" Xoki said

The Sea Robbers have also struggled in front of the goal, scoring only 11 goals in their 15 matches so far.

Kick-off at the Soweto Stadium is at 15:30.

On Saturday we also see Marumo Gallants welcome Richards Bay at Royal Bafokeng Stadium while Chippa United lock horns with Cape Town City at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Sekhukhune United who have appointed Morgan Gould as the second assistant coach, conclude Saturday's fixture by traveling to the Danie Craven Stadium in Cape Town to lock horns with Stellenbosch FC.

Relegation-threatened Swallows FC are in action on Sunday afternoon at the Dobsonville Stadium for a clash with TS Galaxy while Maritzburg United welcome Royal AM at the Harry Gwala Stadium, kick-off is at 17:30
