Bola Tinubu leads the Presidential race in Nigeria as results trickle in

Results are beginning to trickle in for the Nigerian National Elections in what is looking like the tightest electoral race since 1999. With over 85 million people being eligible to cast their vote, many wait in anticipation for the final results.

It is result day in Nigeria as voters await the results of their votes from the weekend. This comes as the country held their national election on 25-26 February 2023.

With almost 20 candidates on the ballot for the position of President, three of these have stood out as the strongest contenders. It is set to be a tight race between Bola Tinubu from the current ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), Peter Obi from the Labour Party, and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate Atiku Abubakar.

Voting concluded this past weekend, although results are taking long to be revealed, with only one state having its result announced, Ekiti.

The state saw Bola Tinubu clench a convincing win.

With the delay in the release of the results being a common occurrence in Nigeria, many citizens have still expressed their disappointment with some accusing voter officials on doing this deliberately.

Results are set to continue to trickle in.

This is a developing story. More updates to follow.
