The next two days are set to be quite eventful, as the Cabinet Lekgotla officially kicks off on 2 February 2023. The Lekgotla, which will be presided by President Cyril Ramaphosa is set to be the most important yet, as the country battles an energy crisis.

Leaders from all over government are set to take part in the two-day cabinet Lekgotla that begins today in the Pretoria.

With the State of the Nation address (SONA) set to be delivered by the President next week, the Lekgotla is set to serve as an indication of what will be outlined  in the SONA.

The energy crisis is expected to debut as a topic of discussion in the  Lekgotla. This amid the ANC NEC proposing a National State of Disaster to deal with load shedding.

According to the ANC, who held their NEC Lekgotla over the past weekend, it plans to end load shedding in 12 months.

The proposals brought about within the party’s Lekgotla are set to be proposed once again over the next two days as leaders discuss the way forward for the country.

With the energy crisis starting to affect various aspects of society including water supply in some areas, this is expected to dominate discussions throughout the Lekgotla.

This is a developing story. More updates to follow.
