Kingsley Coman haunts former club in the last 16

Bayern Munich's Kingsley Coman scored the solitary goal in the 54th minute of the UEFA Champions League last 16 encounter against Paris Saint-German at the Parc des Princes Stadium in France on Tuesday night.

Coman slotted the goal after Leon Goretzka found Jean-Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting down the left hand side before the Cameroonian laid the ball back to Alphonso Davies who sent in a well timed cross that met with Coman's right foot who effortlessly guided the ball in the back of the net.

In an encounter that went to halftime with both sides still deadlocked at 0-0, Bayern made the first change bringing in Davies for Joao Cancelo while PSG saw Achraf Hakimi come in for Presnel Kimpembe immediately after the restart of the second half in a bid to unlock each other and get the all important goal(s).

That proved to be the case as one of the substitutes Davies was influential in the build up to Bayern's goal.

The goal by Bayern immediately provoked PSG's coach Christophe Galtier to bring in World Cup finalist Kylian Mbappe who really made an impact as once he got in, PSG came back into the game.

Mbappe thought that he had restored parity for the French side in the 74th minute when he was denied from close range by Yann Sommer and had a goal ruled out for offside.

The French star had another goal disallowed  in the 81st minute due to Nuno Mendes being offside during the build up.

Bayern held on for the narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg with 10 men after Benjamin Pavard received his marching orders late in the second half, the red card means the French-born defender will be unavailable for the second leg at the Allianz Arena in Germany on the 8th of March.

Meanwhile at the San Siro on Tuesday night, AC Milan also won 1-0 against Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16.

Brahim Diaz's 7th minute strike was enough to see Tottenham Hotspur's woes continue with coach Antonio Conte having mentioned that his side lacks consistency.

Spurs will go back to England knowing that they can overturn the 1-0 deficit in the second leg on the 8th of March at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but first they have a London Derby on the 26th of February to handle as they continue their quest for a top four finish in the English Premier League.
