Manchester United have claimed the bragging rights in the 189th edition of the Manchester Derby.
Erik Ten Hag's charges defeated Pep Guardiola's Manchester City at a packed Old Trafford in the latest chapter of this enduring rivalry.
United showed their intention very early in the encounter as they started on the front foot with a Bruno Fernandes shot going agonizingly wide, Marcus Rashford then also had an opportunity to break the deadlock after going past the goalkeeper but his shot was cleared by Manuel Akanji.
With neither side able to break the deadlock in the first half, the match opened up in the second half and City sent their fans into a frenzy as Jack Grealish rose highest in the box to score from a Kevin De Bruyne cross at the hour mark.
However United showed why they have been in fine form lately as they produced a remarkable turnaround, Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes leveled for United in the 78th minute after VAR stepped in to allow the goal to stand.
The United faithful were then sent into a moment of euphoria as Marcus Rashford sealed the victory in the 82nd minute to become the first Manchester United player to score in seven consecutive appearances since Cristiano Ronaldo in 2008.
The victory means United have now won 9 matches in row in all competitions and move within a point of City in second point on the log while City lose their third match this season.
