Asbestos Fraud And Corruption Case Against Ace Magashule And Co-Accused Has Been Moved To The High Court.

The Secretary-General of the African National Congress (ANC ) Ace Magashule and co-accused appeared at the Bloemfontein Magistrates  Court on Friday morning for charges related to the asbestos corruption matter.  The Prosecutor agreed with the defense team for the accused to be granted bail of R50 000 each, but the final decision is at the discretion of the court. 

The  State has also requested that the case be transferred to the high court and they have also handed over copies of the indictment to the accused. 

More so the matter has been transferred to the high court for pre-trial proceedings on 11 August 2021.
According to the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), the state had proposed the next court date to be in May 2021. However, the final date was agreed on with defense counsel as the closest when all parties could be available.
