Amakhosi confirm Hlanti's contract extension

Kaizer Chiefs have announced that defender Sifiso Hlanti has signed a one-year contract extension, with an option for a further year thereafter.

Amakhosi Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. expressed his delight at Hlanti extending his contract with the Glamour Boys after Hlanti played a key role in Chiefs' defensive set-up last season.

"We are happy that we have agreed on this contract extension with S’fiso because he is an important member of the team, given his experience and ability and we look forward to his continued hard work and sharing of his knowledge with the young players we have in the team,” Motaung Jr. said.

Hlanti joined Chiefs in 2021 having previously played for AmaZulu and Bidvest Wits, before playing for Swallows FC.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi have already parted ways with three players ahead of the new season.

Last week Thursday, the Glamour Boys confirmed they had allowed Phathutshedzo Nange to leave before his contract expires on Friday the 30th of June 2023 and the midfielder has now joined SuperSport United while defender Eric Mathoho also suffered the same fate last month and Siyabonga Ngezana was sold to Romanian side FCSB a fortnight ago.
