Amakhosi continue to demonstrate faith in Molefi Ntseki

Kaizer Chiefs’ communications manager Vina Maphosa has revealed that head coach Molefi Ntseki still has the full backing of the club despite Amakhosi's recent poor run in the DStv Premiership.

Ntseki was shielded by the police on his way to the tunnel of the Mbombela Stadium on Sunday afternoon after fans threw objects at him from the stands in frustration of the team's 1-0 to TS Galaxy.

With some of Amakhosi's fans already calling for the departure of Ntseki, Maphosa has called for calmness from the fans as Chiefs look to bring back the glory days.

"We cannot employ the coach and leave him to attacks, we appointed the coach to support him and give him all sorts of ammunitions to go out to the battlefield and bring glory to the club and we will continue to do that with any coach that comes to the club.

Many people are citing some reasons that we employed the coach knowing he has not achieved before, we have raised it as before, even the coaches that brought glory at Kaizer Chiefs, they came to the club and achieved glory at Kaizer Chiefs," Maphosa said.

While the Soweto giants last tasted cup glory eight seasons ago, Maphosa was also quick to remind fans that the last time Amakhosi won a piece of silverware was with a coach that had not won a cup before.

“The last time we achieved glory, it was with a coach that had never won a trophy before, had not been supported by the supporters of the national team, saying he failed at Bafana Bafana, why are you bringing him to Kaizer Chiefs and he went on to win us silverware, so we will make sure that we support coach Ntseki to also achieve at Kaizer Chiefs.

We also appeal to our supporters as well to support anybody who is working for the club, anybody who is playing for the club, anybody who is coaching the club," Maphosa added.

Amakhosi are back in action on Saturday the 26th of August against AmaZulu at the FNB Stadium.
