Amakhosi head to Cape Town for a tricky Stellenbosch test

Fresh from claiming their first three points of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership season, Kaizer Chiefs will head to the Athlone Stadium oozing with confidence as they take on Stellenbosch FC on Wednesday night.

Having moved up to 11th on the log Amakhosi will look to claim another victory against the Stellies that will catapult them into the top 8 spot after five matches.

Ahead of the encounter head coach Molefi Ntseki has expressed his delight in how the club's latest acquisitions have finally gelled with the rest of the teammates and have also cemented their place in the staring XI of the team.

“I think we brought in Pule Mmodi with a clear understanding that he is a quality player and he proved that against AmaZulu scoring a beautiful brace, I am personally happy for him because I know that brace will help him to grow in confidence and settle well too," Ntseki said.

Edson Castillo is also proving to be a quality signing for Chiefs as the Venezuelan midfielder is not only a work horse, but he chips in with goals as well.

Castillo scored the winning goal in Chiefs’ MTN8 quarter-final clash against Cape Town City earlier this month, while also scoring against AmaZulu on this past weekend.

"Castilo is another player I am happy about, he is very confident on the ball and he also provides that quality that we need in the middle of the park and with Tebogo Potsane having assisted two goals so far, it's evident the team is solid in the midfield," Ntseki added.

Last season the Glamour Boys won both their games against Stellenbosch FC in the league, claiming a 3-1 victory away and a 2-1 victory at home.

Kick-off on Wednesday night is 19:30.
