Kaizer Chiefs' Given Msimango has opened up about how his new teammates has warmly welcomed him in the team particularly during the on-going pre-season camp.

Msimango joined Chiefs from TS Galaxy on a four-year deal last month as Amakhosi seek to strengthen their defense ahead of the upcoming 2023/24 DStv Premiership season.

With Msimango insisting that its always important for a new player to be welcomed warmly in a new environment as this will help the player settle in, adapt quicker and deliver the goods for the club, Amakhosi's senior players have done just that as the 25-year-old believes he feels at home at Naturena.

“Being in pre-season with the club has been nothing but fantastic because the guys have welcomed me with open arms, the management has been warm to me and I think that’s important for the player to feel welcomed in a new space, to feel wanted so that you can perform at your utmost best and settle in very quickly.

The senior players have played a massive role in my induction in the club as they have shown me the ropes, Itumeleng Khune, Keagan Dolly, Brandon Peterson and Bruce Bvuma have been very warm to me too," Msimango said.

The former TS Galaxy captain furthermore alluded that having been with the team in Mpumalanga for the pre-season camp has also helped him realise how important Kaizer Chiefs' player need to understand the culture of the club.

“This is a massive club and it's very important that you adapt as soon as possible so that you can start performing to the best of your abilities because here at Chiefs, things are done in a certain way and it's better for one to understand the culture of the club in order to gel in perfectly.

That is why the senior players have been teaching me about the culture of the club, what goes on in the club, how it works, the production and everything that happens within the club at large," Msimango added.

Msimango is one of the seven new faces at Naturena joining fellow centre-back Thatayaone Dithlokwe, striker Ranga Chivaviro, and midfielders Mduduzi Mdantsane, Pule Mmodi and Edson Castillo ahead of the new season.
