Dillon Sheppard heads to Ireland

Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Dillon Sheppard is set to make his way to Ireland where he will complete his coaching badges ahead of the new football season.

Sheppard who is one of the most promising youth coaches in the country, joined Amakhosi back in 2020 under the tutelage of then coach Gavin Hunt.

The 44-year-old was then announced as the new assistant coach of the Glamour Boys ahead of the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season.

With Arthur Zwane already having a UEFA-B License, Sheppard will join the Chiefs mentor as one of the few young DStv Premiership coaches to obtain the UEFA-B License.

While completing the course, Sheppard will be in Ireland for two weeks as the DStv Premiership is still on a break.

The former Bidvest Wits player will hope that by attaining the UEFA Pro License coaching badge, he will be able to use the knowledge he would have acquired to help Amakhosi's technical team to build a solid and competitive squad ahead of the 2023/24 season.

The Glamour Boys had another disappointing season in the last campaign finishing fifth on the log with 44 points after 30 matches.
