"I believe once I start scoring, it's going to be a continuous thing" - Ranga Chivaviro

Kaizer Chiefs striker Ranga Chivaviro is keen on ending his goal drought at Amakhosi as the talisman is yet to find the back of the net since joining the Glamour Boys at the beginning of the 2023/24 PSL season.

While Chivaviro has played seven games across all competitions for the Soweto giants so far, the talented striker has alluded that he needs to start scoring goals to take some pressure off his back.

"I am looking forward to score my first goal and yes, there’s pressure, but as an experienced player these kinds of things do happen in football, it's only up to me to keep my mind level up and understand that there are rough patches, I am just waiting for that opportunity for me to start scoring.

I believe once it starts happening it’s going to be a continuous thing but for now, as much as it is painful, that I haven’t found the back of the net, I am patient with myself and I understand these kinds of things happen, so I am just patiently waiting to open my account for Kaizer Chiefs," Chivaviro said.

With Chiefs welcoming AmaZulu in the last 16 of the Carling Knockout Cup at the FNB Stadium on Saturday the 21st of October 2023, Chivaviro has reiterated that it's important for the team to win the encounter and put themselves in a good position to win the cup.

"Of course the fans want us to win the cup, I think as players we want it even more because it's another opportunity for us to try to get trophy glory days back here at the club.

We feel as players it’s an opportunity to end the drought, and it’s what we want to do to find ourselves in that final and winning a cup to lift everyone’s spirit," Chivaviro added.

Kick-off on Saturday evening is 18:00 o'clock.
