"It's an unbelievable feeling" - Aden McCarthy

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Fabian McCarthy's son Aden McCarthy has revealed that being part of Amakhosi's senior team is an incredible and unbelievable feeling.

McCarthy is currently with the Glamour Boys' senior team in Mpumalanga for their pre-season camp ahead of the new 2023/24 football season.

Having already been on the bench of the senior team for the first time in a 2-0 win over Sekhukhune United in December 2021, when the club was stuck with a COVID-19 crisis, McCarthy looks set to being part of head coach Molefi Ntseki's plans in the upcoming season.

"Well it's my pre-season camp with the senior team and it's honestly an unbelievable feeling, we have had three training sessions so far and they have honestly been very productive and fruitful.

One of my highlights in this pre-season camp is that we have been learning how to become unified as one group in order to take on challenges together because reality is you can't achieve it alone or in a small group, you have to do it together as one," McCarthy said.

With the Soweto giants looking to reclaim their glory days back, McCarthy believes the latest signings the club has managed to acquire will help the team to reach the desired expectations.

"While the new coach, as well as the new players are stepping in and getting accustomed to how things are done here, they have gelled in perfectly and they have also fitted in quite well.

We have obviously also welcomed them with open arms because there is no space for people to feel left out, everyone has gathered together to make them feel welcome and they have fitted in to the club," McCarthy added.

As part of the schedule for the pre-season camp, Amakhosi will play against Tanzanian side Young Africans SC on the 22nd of July before traveling to Botswana for a date with Township Rollers on the 29th of July 2023.
