Molefi Ntseki explains why Kaizer Chiefs bought Thatayaone Ditlhokwe

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has revealed some of the qualities and traits the club looked for upon signing defender Thatayaone Ditlhokwe.

Ditlhokwe is part of the other six players that joined the Glamour Boys ahead of new 2023/24 football season and will likely become Amakhosi's regular centre back along with another new signing Given Msimango.

With Ditlhokwe being described as a player with the right mentality to don the Amakhosi jersey, Ntseki has outlined the qualities that make the former Township Rollers defender an ideal signing for Chiefs.

“I think he is a top quality defender, he is the captain of the Botswana national team, and with Kaizer Chiefs, in terms of our recruitment, we are looking for such leaders and I think apart from being a leader he is also a top quality player.

We were looking forward to having him on the team in terms of bringing quality and adding value to the team and we are currently very happy in terms of his contribution to the team now," Ntseki said.

Ntseki also believes Ditlhokwe's three-year PSL experience will be useful in his tenure at Amakhosi.

"One of the biggest reasons we recruited him is so that he can add value to the club because even for him personally, when I spoke to him, he was looking forward to being a Kaizer Chiefs player and now that he is here, it means he has to deliver for the club, and he has to perform as a team member.

As of now, we are very happy with his leadership and his knowledge of the game and his qualities on the pitch," Ntseki added.

Ditlhokwe will hope to be part of Chiefs' starting line-up in their 2023/24 season opener against Chippa United on the 6th of August.
