Ahead of the 2023/24 DStv Premiership resumption, Soweto giants Kaizer Chiefs have offered the talented midfielder Nkosingiphile Ngcobo, as well as goalkeepers, Bruce Bvuma and Brandon Petersen, new contracts.

Upon the announcement of the contracts' extensions, Amakhosi released a statement reiterating that the trio's contract extensions come as a reassurance of the club's faith in the three players’ immense potential and a commitment to securing a bright future for the trio and the team.

"Having joined the club's youth academy in 2014, Bvuma's rise through the ranks has been nothing short of remarkable.

From displaying exceptional skills and determination in every match he played, Bvuma swiftly made his way to the first team, his agility, lightning-fast reflexes, and unwavering commitment to the game have solidified his position as one of the most promising young talents in South African football.

The contract extension, which keeps Bvuma at Kaizer Chiefs until June 2026 with an option to extend for a further year, underlines the club's belief in their goalkeeper's abilities.

Bvuma’s fellow goalkeeper, Petersen, has also penned a contract that will see him at Chiefs until the end of June 2026, also with an option to possibly add another year.

29-year-old Petersen arrived at Naturena from the now-defunct Bidvest Wits in 2020, but he was only officially registered in July 2021.

With the current season being his third for the Glamour Boys, he has represented the team in 43 official matches.

The third contract signing is for Ngcobo and like Bvuma, Ngcobo started playing in the team’s development structures.

He was promoted in 2017, at the age of 17, and has played in various competitions, including the CAF Champions League, where Amakhosi reached the final in 2021.

‘Mshini’, as Ngcobo is known in football circles, has been given a 2-year contract, with a further one-year option," the statement read.

Meanwhile, Chiefs' Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jnr. expressed his delight in securing the three players’ services for an extended period, saying that Bvuma, Ngcobo and Petersen have shown immense potential as Chiefs players and have displayed great dedication to the club.

"We believe in their abilities and are confident that they will continue to be an integral part of our team's success in the coming years, we are excited to see them reach new heights," Motaung Jnr. added.

Amakhosi welcome TS Galaxy next week Tuesday at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in a DStv Premiership match.
