Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed the departure of 25-year-old Siyabonga Ngezana to Romanian Ligue 1 Fotbal Club FCSB, formerly known as Steaua Bucharesti on Thursday morning.

The 25-year-old youth develpoment academy graduate joins the 26-time Romanian champions for an undisclosed fee after spending seven seasons as a first team player at Naturena, having made a goal scoring debut against Mamelodi Sundowns in 2017.

Ngezana's departure means that the Glamour Boys have now sold another youth development academy graduate to an overseas based team in just six months after Njabulo Blom joined MLS outift St. Louis City SC earlier on this year.

After being part of Amakhosi's squad that advanced to the CAF Champions League final in the 2020/21 football season, Ngezana leaves Chiefs having made 123 appearances overall in all competitions and also having represented the national under-20 and under-23 teams along with two full international caps for Bafana Bafana.

Upon his departure, Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director, Kaizer Motaung Jr. expressed his gratitude to Ngezana for his commitment to the club.

There is always a tinge of sadness when a player who has risen through the ranks here leaves the club, however, Siya has had a good and substantial career at Kaizer Chiefs and feels the time is right to take up a new challenge and we appreciate his wholehearted commitment to Amakhosi and wish him well on his exciting adventure to Europe," Motaung Jr. said.
