"The confidence of the team is very high ahead of the TS Galaxy match" - Mduduzi Mdantsane

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane is confident Chiefs will record their first victory of the season in the DStv Premiership on Sunday when they face TS Galaxy at the Mbombela Stadium.

Heading into the encounter at the back of a draw and a lose away to Chippa United and Mamelodi Sundowns respectively in their last two league matches, Amakhosi will look to change their fortunes and grab their first three points of the season in Nelspruit.

The two sides have met eight times in the past and out of those eight meetings, Chiefs boast just a single win with five draws and two defeats, something that Mdantsane is convinced will count for nothing on Sunday afternoon.

"What happened previously, we have to let it go, what's important is now, TS Galaxy are a different team now compared to last season and we are also a different team, so I really don't think history will play any role in Sunday’s game.

The confidence of the team is high and the win over Cape Town City helped us a lot as far as boosting our morale is concerned because the spirit among the squad is amazing and everyone wants to win and fight for everything that's on offer," Mdantsane said.

The clash against TS Galaxy will also see Amakhosi's latest acquisition Given Msimango face his former team after being signed from TS Galaxy during the transfer window.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi have also bolstered their squad with the signing of 24-year-old Colombian striker Efmamjjasond González Palacios, the signing came a day after the Soweto giants offloaded Burundian talisman Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.

Kick-off at the Mbombela Stadium is 15:00 o'clock on Sunday afternoon.
