The Spar Proteas prepare to face World Champions in a three test match series

By Neo Poho

The Spar Proteas will travel to Australia to face the newly crowned champions in a three test match series in October 2023.

Netball South Africa President Cecilia Molokwane is confident the series will help the team to learn one or two lessons that might be useful in the future for the Spar Proteas and the coaching staff.

"It is a good thing that we get to play the new world champions at a time like this, I am sure that the players will take a few lessons from this series and most importantly, we want to use this series as one of the things we do as part of our succession plan.

We want to take some few coaches with the team, reason for this is that we want to learn and be exposed to what is out there so that when coach Norma Plummer leaves then we have a few people to look and choose from," Molokwane said.

The series will start on the 26th of October at the Cairns Convention Centre before heading to MyState Bank Arena on the 29th of October with the last match taking place on the 31st of October at MyState Bank Arena.

The last time the two countries faced off against each other was during the Quad Series in Cape Town before the 2023 Netball World Cup in South Africa.
