Ahead of the upcoming football season Kaizer Chiefs Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has outlined the club's plans and mandate for the new season making it very clear that Amakhosi wants to win the league title and return to playing continental football.

Speaking at Amakhosi's new home and away kit launch on Tuesday evening at The Galleria in Sandton, Motaung Jr. alluded that the club has set very high and clear expectations for the 2023/24 season which kicks-off on the 4th of August 2023.

"Well the mandate is always very clear from our side, we want to win trophies, league titles and also play continental football, we have objectives of integrating the youth as well and we also have objectives of mixing experience and youth in the club.

Even our new coach [Molefi Ntseki] knows that if you are a head coach of Kaizer Chiefs it’s very clear, you are here to win, build something at the same time, but you are here to win, we know where we want to be, back on the continent, play continental football, so you can’t be a head coach of Kaizer Chiefs and not have the clear mandate," Motaung Jr. said.

The former Chiefs striker also urged the club’s fans to show their love and support for the players and the technical team in the new season.

“The call stays the same, we are asking our supporters to get behind the team, come to the stadiums and fill the stadiums, give the players, the technical staff and the institution as a whole all your support, all your love and all your energy.

Personally, I am very excited for the season to start because we have assembled a fairly strong group and we are just looking forward to having the coach to getting the best out of the players," Motaung Jr. added.

The Glamour Boys will now head to Botswana for a pre-season friendly against Township Rollers before they wear their new home kit for the first time on Sunday the 6th of August 2023 when they welcome Chippa United at Moses Mabhida in the DStv Premiership.
